Headache Medicine Fellowship

Dr. Murinova is the Director of the Headache Medicine Fellowship and an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology.

This is a one-year UCNS accredited clinical fellowship focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of complex headache disorders. The fellowship will include evaluation of difficult and unusual headache in an outpatient setting, as well as development of an inpatient program for refractory headache. Research time during the fellowship is offered to encourage development of a clinical research project or participation in Headache Center clinical trials. The fellowship will support attendance at two major American headache Society meetings.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum requirements for eligibility

  1. The fellow must possess a current valid and unrestricted license to
    practice medicine in the United States or its territories or Canada.
  2. Applicants must be certified by an American Board of Medical Specialties
    (ABMS) certifying board or possess equivalent certification by the Royal
    College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or the American
    Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  3. Applicants applying under the internationally trained faculty pathway must
    have a medical diploma from an institution registered in the World
    Directory of Medical Schools.
  4. Applicants applying under the internationally trained faculty pathway must
    be certified in their primary specialty by a competent medical board. Such
    a board may include, a) an applicable board of the European Union of
    Medical Specialties (EUMS), or b) the medical board of the applicant’s
    country of origin, such board to be approved by the Certification Council.
  5. Applicants must hold a current, active, valid, unrestricted, and unqualified
    license to practice medicine in at least one jurisdiction in the United States,
    its territories, or Canada, and in each jurisdiction in which they practice
    (Applicants applying under the internationally trained faculty pathway for
    UCNS subspecialty certification must hold a valid license to practice
    medicine in the United States, its territories and possessions, or Canada.)

We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications
are submitted through Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS)
December cycle. Applicants should gather the necessary documents, including
their CV, personal statement, recommendation letters, and transcripts for use in
The NRMP Match.
