Lila Brisk

Lila is the lead coordinator of a large-scale NIH-funded longitudinal biomarker study, enrolling patients with ALS, those with a family history of ALS/FTD, and healthy controls. She also works on a compassionate use investigational drug trial for ALS. She finds this research to be particularly meaningful and is hopeful about ongoing genetic research and the development of new treatments.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two cats Finn and Mitzy, rock climbing, and baking sourdough.

Kaycie works on a natural history study for ALS, as well as investigational drug trials for FSHD, Myotonic Dystrophy, and Myasthenia Gravis. She enjoys traveling, going to concerts, and exploring new food spots with family and friends.

Brianna works with an NIH-funded Phase 2 study under the NIH HEAL Initiative investigating the safety and efficacy of a medication created by Novaramed for Diabetic patients with Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. This opens up collaboration with the UW Pain Division, where clinical trials are conducted in various chronic pain conditions like chronic low back pain and knee osteoarthritis, studying non-opioid treatments for pain. She enjoys meeting new participants in the study, as they tell me their stories and how they led to the diagnosed conditions being studied. Hearing their stories helps shape her passion for contributing more to medicine and research.
In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends and exploring food scenes.

Lilly is working on FSHD Natural History Studies and a Phase 3 Myotonic Dystrophy Clinical Trial. She enjoys working with the team and finds this research rewarding as it increases the chance of a higher quality of life for the research participants.
She enjoys cooking and baking all types of cuisines.

Piya is working on a natural history study and clinical trial for IBM, as well as a clinical trial for SMA. She finds this research particularly meaningful because it has the potential to directly improve the experiences of people living with these conditions. She loves to dance, explore the city, and spend quality time with friends and family. She is also fluent in Telugu.

She is passionate about conducting clinical research as it provides impactful opportunities for patients looking to get involved in new medical breakthroughs along with exploring health outcomes of neuromuscular research. She loves to explore cafes across Greater Seattle, volunteer at service events and spend quality time with friends and family. She is also fluent in Hindi.
